Budget Friendly
Gentry allows only 4 unique rares/mythics and 15 uncommons per deck. Because of this there aren't a lot of expensive cards in a deck. This makes Gentry one of the cheapest formats in Magic.
Varied metagame
Because of the rare/mythic restriction in Gentry you can't depend on them too much. This means there is a much wider variety of playable decks in Gentry.
